State of Emergency COVID-19

A State of Emergency has been declared in Western Australia under the Emergency Management Act as a result of the coronavirus pandemic that is affecting the entire world and indeed our very own community.

Under WA laws, a number of Directions have been made in the interests of slowing the spread of COVID-19.

 

The Directions impact a number of activities – including travel, gathering sizes and on the operation of businesses.

WA Police Force Commissioner Chris Dawson, who is also the State Emergency Coordinator, has made public comment at a number of media conferences regarding measures taken to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Western Australia.

 

Cautious easing of restrictions

 

The WA Government announced some stage 3 restrictions would be relaxed from Monday 27 April 2020 following continued low number of new cases.

WA Government encourages download and usage of COVIDSafe app
 
The WA Government is encouraging residents to download the Australian Government’s COVIDSafe application to their smartphones.
 
While downloading the application is voluntary – it is highly recommended by the Chief Medical Officer. It will help keep our community safe and ensure we can get back to normal as quickly as possible.
 
By downloading the app you will be protecting yourself, your family and your community – we’re all in this together.

G2G Pass


A new app, G2G PASS, has been developed to provide an efficient way of applying for and demonstrating proof of an exemption before travelling to or around Western Australia. G2G PASS is now live and available for use by industry and the general public, if exempt to travel.

Border Controls

 

Strict border controls are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 in WA. You cannot enter Western Australia unless an exemption has been granted.

Prohibition on Regional Travel 


From Monday, 18 May 2020, regional travel restrictions have been relaxed and changes to regional borders implemented. For more information about the restrictions currently in place, please visit the WA Government website.


WA Police Force has implement precautionary screening processes at Police facilities across the State in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Western Australia.
